I think that Twitter could be useful in my future practice as a teacher to communicate with parents and posting daily reminders for our classroom. This would be a great way to easily showcase student work for example but also a quick and accessible way for parents to see the latest news from our classroom. Though I am not sure about using Twitter specifically, I would also consider using Instagram too to do this as I have seen my mentor teacher use it!

  1. Hello Nadia! I appreciate how you’re considering using social media to foster better communication between the classroom and parents. It shows an awareness of the importance of keeping parents informed and engaged. I like how you’re open to exploring different platforms, like Instagram, based on the positive experience you observed with your mentor teacher. It’s great that you’re drawing inspiration from real-world examples in your practice. One thing I wonder is how you might address concerns around privacy and the safe use of social media when showcasing student work.

  2. Hi Nadia! It sounds like you have a great plan to utilize media to keep in touch with parents. I understand preferring Instagram as I too, find it to be more of a prominent platform these days. I wonder which platform parents would prefer... or would they rather stick to Google Classroom? Nonetheless, both will be great ways to adhere to your professional responsibilities as an educator. I look forward to connecting with you!
